A big thank you to Jules Herd.

Martin Sharp, a multifaceted individual with a background in IT architecture, snow sculpting, and fitness, shared his transformative journey on the radio show. Despite a successful career, Martin faced a significant challenge when his weight peaked at 24 stone (340 pounds), leading to a pivotal moment during a family trip to Universal Studios in 2014. Unable to fit on the rides, Martin realized he needed to make a life change.

Initially, he followed traditional fitness advice—joining a gym, hiring a personal trainer, and trying various diets. However, none of these approaches worked for him over five years. It wasn’t until he met a chiseled businessman at a conference that Martin found a new path. This man introduced him to an online coach, who helped Martin rethink his approach to fitness by focusing on flexibility and personalizing his diet and exercise routine.

This new method was effective—Martin lost 10 kilograms in the first three months and 40 kilograms in the first year. His success led him to create Sharp Fit for Life, an online coaching business aimed at helping busy professionals achieve similar results. Martin emphasizes that time and knowledge are the two biggest obstacles for most people, and his program focuses on mindset, proper nutrition, and exercise, all tailored to individual needs.

In addition to his fitness achievements, Martin also shared his passion for snow sculpting, a unique hobby he discovered through a friend. Together, they’ve created massive sculptures worldwide, including a double-decker bus-sized Eddie the Eagle and intricate pieces in Japan.

Martin’s parting advice to listeners: "Be good to yourself first, so that you can be good for others tomorrow."

His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, flexibility, and the importance of finding what truly works for you.
