Losing 13kg changed my life, both physically and mentally. After the devastating loss of my eldest son to suicide, I struggled with grief, neglecting my health and well-being. By 2020, I realized I needed to make a change—not just for myself but for my family.
In 2022, I hired a fitness coach, Martin Sharp, and started a dedicated fitness plan that included resistance training, cardio, and core exercises. I also overhauled my diet, focusing on high protein, plenty of vegetables, and managing carbs, especially on training days. This structured approach, combined with accountability to Martin, was key to my success.
I dropped 13kg and kept it off, which has transformed not only my body but also my mindset. I have more energy, and I’m present for my family, especially my youngest child, who loves kicking a football around with me.
My weekly routine includes resistance training four to five days and running three times. I eat five small meals daily, packed with protein and green veggies, and adjust my carb intake based on my workout schedule. I also prioritize sleep and limit alcohol, which has further boosted my overall well-being.
This journey has been about more than weight loss—it’s about regaining control of my life, feeling stronger, and being there for the people I love.
