At Sharp Fit For Life, we’re excited to share that Martin Sharp has been featured in Health Journal! In this insightful article. Martin joins other leading voices in breaking the stigma around men and meditation/mindfulness.
For years, meditation and mindfulness have been unfairly viewed as passive or incompatible with traditional masculinity. However, more men are now embracing mindfulness as a tool for mental strength, resilience, and overall well-being. Martin shared his personal experience on why it’s not always easy to find the right approach.
Martin Sharp on Mindfulness & High-Pressure Lifestyles
Martin, a multi-award-winning fitness & lifestyle coach and founder of Sharp Fit For Life, opened up about his struggle to prioritise self-care with the pressures of work, family and financial responsibilities.
He explained how, like many men, the overwhelming demands of career, family and financial stability led him to put his own well-being on hold. While mindfulness and meditation were often suggested as solutions, Martin found that much of the advice didn’t align with the high-stress reality of his life.
Breaking the Stigma Around Male Mindfulness
Alongside Martin, the feature includes insights from Killian Campbell, a sound healer and wellness guide who reframed meditation as mental training and Benjamin Power a business leader advocating for emotional and spiritual well-being in male leadership.
Together, these men are proving that mindfulness isn’t about retreating from challenges—it’s about tackling them with greater focus, clarity, and resilience.
