From Changing Businesses to Transforming Lives: My Journey to Health and Success
Aug 30, 2024From Changing Businesses to Transforming Lives: My Journey to Health and Success
Imagine this: it’s 2014, and I’m five years into running my own business. I’m helping clients worldwide achieve massive business transformations, guiding them to seven and eight-figure success. I’m also a devoted husband and father, blessed with a loving and supportive family.
Now, picture this: it’s Christmas, and we’re on holiday in Orlando, Florida. The excitement is palpable, but there’s a crushing disappointment—I can’t take my children on the roller coasters because I can’t fit in the seats. At 24 stone (154kg), I’m battling constant aches and pains, lower back problems, and trouble breathing.
Determined to change, I tried everything: a gym membership, a personal trainer, diet plans, walking 10,000 steps a day, tracking calories. I believed that eating less and moving more was the key. If a calorie deficit is good, then a bigger deficit should yield faster results, right?
But none of it worked. The gym membership and personal training sessions went unused due to client deadlines or travel. The only constant was my 10,000 steps a day, shuffling around offices between meetings. Business trips became excuses for indulgence, attending fantastic dinners and drinks to build rapport and make changes happen.
I tried karate with my daughter, kickboxing with friends, and countless diets. I joined accountability groups, even created one. I spent thousands seeking results, but nothing stuck. Nothing could reconcile my commitments to family, friends, and clients with my desire to lose weight.
Then, a leading online physique and lifestyle consultant gave me a pivotal piece of advice: “You have to make this one of your highest values for your change to succeed.”
Did this mean putting myself before everything else? Yes, it did. I had to pin my highest value to my change.
I signed up for a professional, custom personal training and nutrition plan tailored to my body. I set my reasons, built a plan, and approached it like any other transformation project I had successfully delivered. I learned to adapt, fitting health and fitness into my already packed schedule, whether I was in a luxury gym in Dubai, a rooftop gym in Prague, a basement gym in Bucharest, or a local gym near my home.
In 12 weeks, despite being away from home for 8 of them, I dropped over 22 pounds. Another 15 pounds came off over the next three months. My suits no longer fit; it was like a young kid playing dress-up with his dad’s clothes. I had to start replacing my wardrobe regularly. People I’d known for years walked past me without recognizing me. In one year, I dropped 40kg (88lb), despite travel, client engagements, and COVID lockdowns.
Sometimes, you have to put yourself first. Be selfish to be selfless. I’m no longer just existing for others; I’m living my life for myself. I can cycle for miles, perform handstands, and feel reinvigorated.
Now, I love nothing more than helping others achieve their health, fitness, and lifestyle goals. Here’s why the strategies I adopted are so effective and how they work:
Custom Training and Nutrition Plans

Consistency Over Perfection
Why It Works: Consistency in small, manageable steps leads to significant results over time. How It Works: Prioritizing regular, achievable actions over perfection helps build lasting habits and prevents burnout.
