A big thank you to Dainiel Sheridan Journalist

A pair of talented sculptors from Leeds, Justin Scott and Martin Sharp, have created an impressive snow sculpture of Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards on an Austrian mountain for an international competition. This dynamic duo, competing in Ischgl’s international snow sculpture event, used 100 tonnes of snow to craft a tribute to Edwards' iconic ski jump from the 1988 Winter Olympics.

Their sculpture, which spans 15 meters and features Olympic rings and flames, depicts Eddie mid-jump. This masterpiece earned them fourth place out of ten teams, despite the fierce competition from professional sculptors around the world. Scott and Sharp, who are an IT consultant and fitness instructor, respectively, have a unique approach to their art. They value interaction with their sculptures, encouraging people to touch and climb on them, which adds a layer of joy and engagement to their work.

For these sculptors, the process is not just about winning but about spreading positivity and engaging with the community. Their participation in such competitions is a testament to their passion and dedication to the art of snow sculpting, making them standout figures in this creative field.
