Two friends from North Yorkshire, fitness coach Martin Sharp and tree surgeon Justin Scott, have made headlines by sculpting a giant snow boat named "Unsinkable 2" in the international snow sculpture competition, Shapes in White, in Ischgl, Austria. Despite being the only British competitors and facing the challenge of limited snowfall in the UK for practice, they managed to secure ninth place with their innovative design. The interactive sculpture allowed visitors to sit inside, evoking the feeling of being sailors amidst the snowy mountains​.

Martin and Justin's passion for snow sculpting goes beyond competition. They find immense joy in seeing the smiles and excitement their creations bring to people. Their journey continues as they prepare to travel 140 km north of the Arctic Circle to participate in the Kiruna International Snow Sculpture Competition in Swedish Lapland. This next project will see them creating an abstract bronze sculpture of the human form, highlighting their continuous drive for creative expression and adventure​.
