A big thank you to Darren Greenwood Business Editor
Martin Sharp, a dedicated business consultant and fitness enthusiast, is gearing up to tackle the York 10K on August 4, 2024, to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). This race holds personal significance for Martin as he supports his wife in achieving her goal of running a 10K, especially on her birthday and in their home city of York.
The York 10K is renowned for its scenic route through the heart of York, passing historic landmarks like the ancient city walls, Clifford’s Tower, and York Minster. Organized by Run For All, the event has been a staple in York's calendar since 2009, offering an inclusive atmosphere for runners of all abilities.
Martin's commitment to fundraising for the RNLI stems from his passion for water activities and his recognition of the crucial role the RNLI plays in saving lives at sea. The RNLI is a volunteer-driven organization providing 24-hour search and rescue services around the UK and Ireland. Their work is vital, especially considering the high number of drowning incidents each year.
Through his efforts, Martin aims to reach a fundraising target of £2,000, contributing to the RNLI's mission of ensuring safety and support for those in need on the water.
